TROY ? The application deadline for ConnecTech’s new Mentoring program, created through a unique partnership with the Midwest Technology Leaders to match members with local CIOs, has been extended to Feb. 15.
Danielle DeLonge, ConnecTech Manager, said the deadline was rolled back two weeks because ConnecTech has decided to work with other state technology and entrepreneurship programs to promote the program.
?We recognize that everyone in the industry is dealing with this issue of what?s next for them when it comes to IT,? she said ?We wanted to be more inclusive, in who we were inviting to participate in this program and have communicated with other tech organizations across the state.?
DeLonge said ConnecTech has become very selective on which 10 to 15 candidates will be paired with some of the state?s top CIOs.
They include:
Phil Bertolini, CIO Oakland County
Ruthanne Largent, CIO MGM Grand Casino
Bill McFarlane, CIO Siemens/Continental VDO
Mike Thibideau, CIO Webasto Roof Systems
?If you?re a seasoned industry professional, you?ve likely seen programs that were supposed to revolutionize the industry come and go, and you may have even invested large amounts of money in training that ultimately went unused,? she said. ?If you?re just starting out in the field, you may be realizing that the education you received isn?t adequate for all of the challenges you?re now facing. Where do you turn for answers in these stages of the game??
