DETROIT ? Lt. Gov. Brian Calley will be pinch hitting for his boss, Gov. Rick Snyder, as the keynote for the Detroit Chinese Business Association Feb. 27 at the Motor City Casino Soundboard Room where he will help ring in the Chinese New Year of the Sheep.

Snyder was recently hospitalized with a blood clot in his leg, which is now encased in a protective boot.

Also attending the celebration will be a delegation of government and business leaders from China. Guests will learn about and celebrate the year of the Sheep, which holds promise for a year of peace and positive business relationships.

Dinner and reception will take place from at 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. Tickets are available for $250 per person or $450 per couple, with a special discount offer for DCBA members.

The celebration?s events will include remarks from Fred Schell, vice president at DTE Energy; David Wang, president of Yanfeng USA; Ken Barrett, chief diversity officer for GM; and Mary Buchzeiger, CEO of Sure Solutions.

Both Carol Cain and the Future Bridge program will be honored at the event. The gala also will feature special performances by the Peking Opera and the Ballet Detroit Foundation throughout the evening?s program.
