TROY – Ask anyone if they?re in IT, and unless their job entails highly technical programming work, chance are, they?ll tell you no. For most people, being ?in IT? conjures up pictures of sitting in front of a computer for hours at end in a windowless room with a bottle of Mountain Dew next to the monitor.
But these days, it?s just not so. You don?t have to look very far to see accountants, attorneys, educators or just plain old business folks ?in IT,? creating solutions and processes for their clients in new ways with new tools.
So what exactly is it that we all have in common?
-We?re talented, innovative, creative and technical.
-We?re part of the highest-growing sector of economy in the state.
-We?re educated and motivated to stay on top of our careers.
-We?re interested in where technology is headed.
-We want to know what others in the field and in our industry are up to.
We?re also all part of the statewide organization that seeks to connect us with the people, skills and resources needed to succeed wherever we are ?in IT.?
This summer, take some time to look around at the faces you see in IT. Come back this fall recharged, ready to take a whole new look at the tools we?ll be providing you with. We promise; they?ll leave you with much more than just an artificial high?and a pleasant aftertaste.
