SAN FRANCISCO – Just as we
expected, Apple announced the next versions of its best-selling smartphones,
the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. However, despite introducing a new color (rose
gold), the iPhone 6S looks a whole lot like last year’s iPhone 6– and most other iPhones – that came
before.
This
follows the pattern that Apple has long established to issue more significant
changes to its smartphone lineup in even years and to focus more on incremental
updates, like to battery life and software features, in odd years, CNET
News.Com reported.
That
doesn’t mean that the iPhone 6S doesn’t have a bag of goodies tucked into its
predictable aluminum shell, starting with software enhancements in iOS 9,
like a smarter Siri and longer battery life (thanks in part to a new Low Power
Mode).
