DETROIT – While technology inside our vehicles isn’t new, auto manufacturers have somewhat struggled to get consumers to embrace their respective platforms as much as they’ve embraced the operating systems on their smartphones. The launch of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a means of bringing these operating systems to our vehicles could become the answer for driving consumer engagement – while opening a new world of opportunity for app developers.
On August 8 at 6 p.m. Mobile Monday Detroit will present RIIS Founder and CEO and well-known technology author, Godfrey Nolan, to provide an honest look at how well Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated into the dashboard, and to explain how developers can get started creating apps for this new and relatively overlooked commercial opportunity.
Refreshments will be served courtesy of our host and sponsor, RIIS. Free parking is available onsite. The event is free to attend but advance reservations via Meetup ARE REQUIRED in order to attend; make your reservation at http://meetup.com/Mobile-Monday-Detroit.
Mobile Monday Detroit is sponsored by the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and RIIS.
