HOLLAND – Grey Poupon mustard will be produced solely in Michigan as Kraft Heinz Company expands its Holland facility with the help of a Strategic Fund grant.
The company received a $500,000 performance-based grant for a project that expects to generate $17.2 million in private investment and create 50 jobs in the city of Holland, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced Wednesday.
“Heinz has a long history in the Holland community, providing jobs, supporting local agriculture and industrial businesses, and playing a vital role in West Michigan,” MEDC CEO Steve Arwood said in a statement. “The decision by Kraft Heinz to expand further will mean even more jobs for area residents for years to come. We’re excited that Michigan will be home to one of the largest mustard producers in the world and the iconic Grey Poupon brand.”
The company, which selected its Holland site over competing sites in other states, also plans to insource the majority of its Heinz Yellow Mustard in Michigan, the MEDC said.
