ROYAL OAK – Tonya Matthews, PhD, joins Mike Brennan and Matt Roush on this episode of M2 TechCast to talk about the Michigan Science Center’s STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) outreach program. Matthews, the CEO, has reached out to 42 counties  across the state so far. She created the innovative STEMinista program for girls in grades fourth through eighth to introduce them to STEM.

She said today’s children are less motivated by money and more motivated by creating meaningful products and services that help change the world. Young ladies are very interested in the why, she said. So the Michigan Science Center gives them the why.
