However, it is no longer enough to have a share of the casino profits in Las Vegas and Wynn Resorts have been making moves in the US iGaming market. In October 2020, it was announced Wynn Resorts had signed a deal with GAN Limited, a company who provide internet gambling software-as-a-service solutions to the US land-based casino industry. There is a 10-year agreement on the table, and this is the clearest sign yet that Wynn Resorts are serious about taking on the US iGaming market.

In their own words, Wynn Resorts said: “We expect this transaction to position Wynn Resorts to capitalize on developing opportunities in digital and interactive sports betting and gaming throughout the US, by combining Wynn Resorts’ nationally recognized brand with BetBull’s digital sports betting operational capabilities and technology.”

As a result of the partnership with GAN Limited, Wynn Resorts has recently moved into the Michigan online casino gaming and online sports betting business.

Indeed, the Wynn Online website is now up and running in Michigan and has also launched in Tennessee. In fact, the WynnBET Sportsbook has become the latest operator to launch in Tennessee and becomes the seventh sportsbook to become legally available in the state. In addition, Wynn Resorts has created a sports betting partnership with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies and the partnership started in recent home games.

WynnBET is also an official authorized gaming operator of NASCAR plus has a partnership with the Detroit Pistons. Furthermore, Wynn Online has expanded across the United States and is now available in several states, including New Jersey, Indiana, Colorado, and Virginia. With their continued expansion and agreements with some of the leading sports teams, it is easy to see how Wynn Resorts are taking on the US iGaming market.

With Matt Maddox, CEO of Wynn Resorts spoke following the release of Wynn Resorts online in New Jersey and said: “Beyond New Jersey, we have secured market access in numerous other states, and are in the process of applying for licenses on a standalone basis in Tennessee and Virginia. We are also in discussions with potential partners regarding additional access agreements in other jurisdictions.”

This comment came in November 2020 and Wynn Resorts were good on their promise of obtaining a license in Tennessee and Virginia. Everyone knows it was an extremely difficult time for land-based casinos in the US during 2020 and online gambling has certainly been a welcome boost. Wynn Resorts have been quick act and are fast emerging as one of the leading players for online gambling.
