ANN ARBOR – March will come in like a Lion when Thomas Zurbuchen, who leads the NASA team that landed Perseverance rover on Mars last month, joins co-hosts Mike Brennan and Matt Roush on MITech TV. He will update the latest news from the Mars landing at 2 pm March 1.

Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, also was a long time University if Michigan professor and the founder of U of M’s Center for Entrepreneurship. He left the UM in October 2016 to take the role NASA’s Science program, where he leads mission and research activities for the $7 billion a year Earth Science, Heliophysics, Astrophysics, Planetary Sciences as well Space-based biological and physical sciences. 

His latest mission, the Perseverance Rover, landed on Mars just over a week ago with tens of missions of people watching live worldwide. 

Also on the show Monday will be Tom Kelly, the executive director of Automation Alley, who will pay tribute to his predecessor, Ken Rogers, who passed unexpectedly in February. 

The show wraps with Epidemiologist Fred Brown analyzing the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine that was just granted emergency use by the US Food & Drug Administration.
