DETROIT – Some companies feel they are being disrupted by outside forces while others create change from within. Come join the disruptors driving innovation at Manufacturing in America 2017.

Everybody is talking about manufacturing: the economy is revving up, and it’s a hot political topic. Ideally, building our industries through expansion and on-shoring will bring jobs and raise living standards. To the real manufacturers, the picture is more complex. Companies are getting turned on their heads as customer demand changes and the old ways of making things aren’t adaptable or fast enough to keep up any more.

But some companies are doing great because they have found how to respond. Disrupted markets mean more business for them. They’re fast, agile and increasingly digital.   At Manufacturing in America attendees find solutions to manufacturing challenges.

In a few weeks on March 22, I will be headed to Manufacturing in America in Detroit. Why? While everybody is talking about manufacturing, we’re doing something. We are making real what matters. This event is about showing solutions to help manufacturers take hold of the opportunities to come together as a community and to collaborate and innovate.

Meet a Professional Disruptor

One of the major attractions this year will be a keynote address from Josh Linkner, who is, among many things, a professional disruptor. He’s all about innovation, creativity and reinvention, all aimed at hyper-growth leadership. While some keynotes do a great job of inspiring, Josh takes inspiration a step further as he is somebody who has made businesses work. He’s created multiple companies and sold them for a combined value of $200 million. He’s written books, two of which have been on the NY Times bestseller list. And for those from Detroit, he’s one of the founders of Detroit Venture Partners. Bottom line, he’s been at the forefront of change and disruption and made it work. His presentation will not only discuss innovation, but what it takes to get everyone in the company pulling in the same direction.
