ROYAL OAK – IoT Tech Connect, originally scheduled for October, has been rescheduled for April 11-12. Co-producer Rick Beckers, CEO of CloudTech1, said marketing budgets were already spent and although a lot of companies are interested in attending, they suggested the event get moved to 2018. The new dates for the IoT Tech Connect conference is April 11-12 at the Troy Marriott.

The website – www.iottechconnect.com – will become a great content resource for all things IoT in Michigan and beyond. As such, IoT Tech Connect is issuing a call for papers to experts in IoT that can be posted for all to read. Those that post the best papers, columns, stories will be invited to speak at the conference.

Some of the new wrinkles in the spring will be people teaching other people how to create an IoT company. Educators and groups that work with students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) will be encouraged to create content tracks. Other content areas will be cybersecurity, tourism, agribusiness, sensors and hardware, autonomous vehicles. But the final selections will be made by the speakers, exhibitors, sponsors – whatever serves best.
