|West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum will meet Monday, February 12 at Amway World Headquarters for a luncheon program featuring presentations on two critically important sustainabiliy issues: water and workforce training.|
Featured speaker Dave Van Wylen, Dean for Natural and Applied Science at Hope College, will discuss the myriad of international, domestic, and local problems created by humanity’s relationship with water. Americans, especially, treat water in perplexing ways, mostly based on our perceptions that water is (or should be) abundant, accessible, and affordable.
This month’s second featured speaker is Dr. Bill Pink, the tenth President of Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC). Dr. Pink was Vice President and Dean for Workforce Development at GRCC prior to becoming President. He has been an educator for over 25 years, and prior to his tenure at GRCC, Dr. Pink served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City. Dr. Pink will be discussing his efforts to highlight the connection between workforce training and community strength & sustainability.
This month’s forum is presented by Amway.
