AUBURN HILLS – The Southeast Michigan STEM Summit on March 8 and 9 at Oakland University will focus on ensuring a STEM education conduit that provides access to rewarding and productive careers, and supports the promise of continued economic prosperity and growth across the region.

The Southeast Michigan STEM Summit is designed to bring a cross sector of stakeholders together to examine the status and needs of Southeast Michigan in addressing current and evolving talent needs through STEM education. The focus will be on connections and opportunities; connecting skill development and instructional applications to career pathway needs, connecting educators and business in an evolving collaborative system, and seizing opportunities to engage students in expanding STEM learning opportunities that provide career pathway preparation for college and careers. The event also includes special programming and pricing for parents, young students, and college and university students.

Through presentations, panel discussions, exhibits, and networking attendees will identify and increase awareness of promising STEM practices and programs that provide models of measurable success along the various stages of the pipeline.  This event will provide for collaboration among educators workforce professionals, business leaders, policymakers, community and nonprofit organizations, and other active participants in STEM education & workforce and economic development as well as parents and students.
