FERNDALE – Automation Alley Chief Operating Officer Tom Kelly talks about how successful the Southeast Michigan technology network has become, including investing in companies in its 7Cs program. Automation Alley has invested more than $9 million in 19 Michigan advanced manufacturing start-ups to date.

Automation Alley also has been tasked with training people without an Information Technology background to gain this skills. More than 1,000 people now have gone through the Department of Labor program. Automation Alley also has certification programs in Tooling U, some 1,300 online courses, to help former factory workers gain the skills needed to find work in this new digital economy.
