ANN ARBOR – David Brophy, a University of Michigan business professor, started the Michigan Grown Capital Symposium more than three decades ago to help kick start a private equity finance sector in Michigan. In 2021, his brain child is seeking applications to pitch hundreds of investors virtually due to the pandemic. He’s expecting at least 100 startups in technology, agriculture, food production and biotech to pitch.
