ROYAL OAK – Michael Lomonaco, Director of Marketing and Communications for Open Systems Technologies (OST), joins us on M2 TechCast to help celebrate the company’s 20th year in business, and its fourth year in Detroit. OST specializes in business transformation, centered around custom software development, design and data analytics, as well as the Internet of Things (IoT).
In 2002, OST was seven person $5 million company in ERP and VAR product resell space. Now the company has more than 200 employees and revenue of about $170 million. Besides its Grand Rapids headquarters, OST also has an offices near Comerica Park in downtown Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, and London, England.
OST remains solidly positioned in the enterprise datacenter space. HP, Cisco, VM Ware are just a few of its large partners. Lomonaco attributes the company’s rapid growth to its services side. In 2008, OST made an investment in the custom application development space. Three years later, that practice took off, growing from four developers to nearly 80 people – including 55 are software developers – today.
